Pip
Grimsby’s malnourished stable boy, now the Slackline’s newest runner and self-appointed party hanger-on. He carried the band’s instruments, got kidnapped as leverage, and immediately adopted himself into the crew the moment someone cut him loose.

Background
Pip was employed at Baron Grimsby’s estate as a stable boy, doing poorly-compensated work under conditions that made the party immediately want to extract him. When the party infiltrated the Grimsby Gala as the band “Erect Since 1642,” Pip was recruited at the gate to carry instruments. He was enthusiastic about it.
After the gala, Harlan Blackstitch kidnapped him from the estate (stable bedroll gone, blood on the hay) and used him as leverage with a 36-hour clock and a note promising to return the boy “in pieces appropriate to his weight.”
In the Sessions
- Session 05 (cf. Session 05): First encountered as the malnourished stable boy at the Grimsby estate gate. Recruited to carry instruments. Noted as someone the party clearly wanted to help.
- Session 06 (cf. Session 06): Found in the Filch Tannery cellar, bound to a workbench leg, bruised. Cutter Vin briefly put a crossbow on him as a threat. Eyes lit up the moment he saw Nah Mean and Declan come through the grate. Freed by Declan. Offered two gold and a clean billet at the barracks — declined. Asked to join the crew at the Slackline as a runner and stable hand instead.
“Tell you what, Michael. Welcome aboard.” “It’s Pip, master dwarf.” “Sure, whatever. All you human names sound alike anyway.”
Current Status
Slackline runner / stable hand. New member of the party’s extended household. Was also sent to retrieve anything shiny from the Baron’s office before it was sealed.
